NEREO’S CAVE – Below the limestone promontory of Capo Caccia, between 15 and 30 meters deep, there is a hidden underwater world of unique fascination. The cave of Nereus is the largest underwater sea cavity in the Mediterranean and in all of Europe, with a main tunnel of 300 meters and a development of tunnels and secondary chambers that allows it to reach a total of half a kilometer in length.

FALCO’S CAVE – The cave is a small paradise for underwater caving enthusiasts. Once you flow into the inner pond, you can take off your gear and walk through a tunnel that leads into a chamber of about 80 square meters arabesqued by stalactites, stalagmites and calcitic concretions.

THE PORTICATO – This is a little paradise for underwater photographers and videographers because the arches are ideal dens for lobsters, conger eels and moray eels. The walls are lined with sponges and sea daisies, and while well camouflaged, it is easy to encounter beautiful nudibranchs and seahorses. Overlooking from the arches and looking out to the open sea, it is easy to witness the passage of large pelagics such as barracuda, amberjacks, snappers and bream.

GHOST’S CAVE – One enters inside a chamber of about 4 meters that continues with a burrow a couple of meters long and a little less than one meter wide. Torchlight becomes essential as you reach the large main chamber, where the reflections of the calcite rocks lit by the flashlights make the atmosphere almost ghostly and very atmospheric. It is from here that a first tunnel about 20 meters long starts, flowing into an aerial pond. The vault of the cave is arabesqued with reddish stalactites and veins. From here we enter a new tunnel slightly shorter than the previous one that leads into the main chamber: it is a kind of gut of white rock that, by torchlight, gives intense emotions.
