Ten and more kilometers of an uninterrupted dream: it is the coast of Costa Rei, a succession of postcard beaches. It is the longest stretch of sandy coast in south-eastern Sardinia; only a few rocks and small promontories break the continuity of the sandy beach, forming enchanting coves. A popular tourist resort has arisen in front of these wonderful beaches, much loved by Italian and foreign travelers for the beauty of the landscape, the clarity of the sea and the quantity of accommodation and services. It is also an easy to reach destination and its shallow, gently sloping waters are safe even for small children and inexperienced swimmers. Costa Rei is truly an ideal location for those who want a beach holiday in comfort. The background of the beautiful beaches of Costa Rei is the profile of the Sette Fratelli massif, a mountain range that is part of a protected area. From the sea in a short time you pass to suggestive mountains, crossing hills covered with dense Mediterranean vegetation: ideal places for splendid walks. It is a varied area where sea and mountains seem to chase each other, casting furtive glances at each other and offering breathtaking views.

THE BEACH
The Costa Rei beach is a long beach that rises in front of the town and extends for kilometers. Easily accessible on foot or by car, it is a pearly white sand beach lapped by placid, surprisingly blue waters. The seabed is low and sandy and you can therefore swim in complete safety. This lovely beach is very popular and is always crowded in the summer months. It is perfect for those who want beautiful sea and greenery in the surroundings, but prefer those easy to reach and equipped with many services to remote and wild beaches. Another beach that is found along the coast of Costa Rei is Piscina Rei, also very famous but generally quieter. Behind it is a small pond. Moving south, you will find the wonderful beaches of Cala Sinzias (7 km) and Cala Pira (10 km). Cala Sinzias is a 2 km long beach of fine golden sand bathed by a transparent sea. The cleanliness of the sea is not surprising – Sardinia is famous for this – but here we arrive at excellence: according to the findings of Legambiente, the waters that bathe Cala Sinzias are among the purest on the island. Cala Pira is a pretty bay bordered by suggestive dunes on which juniper bushes grow here and there. From the sea – wonderfully blue – the gaze runs towards the promontory that surrounds the bay, on top of which for centuries a defense tower built by the Aragonese has stood out.
